FRIDAY Kids Nature Art Painting Camp

Students enjoy exciting creative explorations using a fresh dynamic approach to painting, ideal for art loving youth who want to stretch their art wings, naturally.

Creative freedom, joy and nature connection are deepened through painting with the living world. Creative by Nature Art Camps & Courses are based on natural principles, build painting skills and support authentic, heartful expression.

NOTE: To maintain social distancing most art will happen mostly outside and there will be a maximum 6 campers per camp. Each camper will have their own studio workspace too.

My love of flyers began at age 8 when I watched a Cecropia moth emerge and eventually fly off.

Presently I draw and paint with two wings whenever possible. Their swirls, loops and pivots draw me in.

Their flight is wild, spontaneous, playful, full of exuberance, a precious luxury, a potent antidote to feeling pinned down.

Painting in oil, dry pigment, graphite, enamel and cold wax maximizes creative possibilities as I mimic their joyful ribbons in the sky.

Exciting nature inspired camp for youth ages 7+ who love to make art. Natural pigments, sun prints, spirographs, swing drawing, group painting, ink play, string drawing, touch painting and creative nature connection art are some of the highlights.

With two fine art studios and a good sized outdoor area for nature connection and exploration, young artists are introduced to a fresh art process each day. Your child will have loads of fun, do personalized projects, have lots of 1:1 time, access tons of materials, and strengthen their own unique expression. The focus will be on developing drawing & painting confidence, creative resilience and passion for artful expression with the living world.

Who says finger painting is just for kids?

Art play

Last summer a parent dropped off her son for kids nature art camp and said, “Why can’t I just stay too and play with the art materials all day?” Why not indeed!! It was at that moment that Adult Nature Art Class was born.

Connect and create with the living world and your wild heart. Varied nature inspired art activities mostly painting, drawing and print making, designed for both beginners and confident creatives, invite fresh joyful exploration of materials and processes.Themes include flow, spin, tuning in, touching in, pattern making, spontaneity, natural pigments, mirroring, reflection, light & shadow.

Try out some of the following: Japanese Sumingashi marbling, ink marbling, acrylic pours, watercolour finger painting with sounds, textures, patterns of birds, shadows clouds, the wind … Spirograph, spin drawing in silks, alcohol inks, collage, nature self portraits, plant pigments, mandalas, paper sculpture, string art, cold wax play, to the name a few. Paint with Nature ~ 6 Week Course for Adults

MONDAYS Oct 15- Nov 19, 6 weeks.

Afternoons 2-4 pm or evenings 7-9 pm $240

Nature encounters that use the senses: touch, sound, pattern & light will help you build a potent painting practice to call your own, or boost your current practice with fresh energy. You will feel confident to paint anywhere anytime. You will also be invited to paint your heart’s desire, freely and spontaneously.

You will learn the Creative by Nature Art Method~ a heartful contemplative painting practice that supports painting with natural ease and deepens nature connection through art. Truly fun, playful yet surprisingly powerful ways to shift into creative flow will build your painting skills and boost your art confidence. Learn to paint for joy using the Creative by Nature Art Method – a powerful yet playful nature based painting practice you will love. In the garden, forest and studio you will paint texture, sounds, shapes, patterns, movements and what is in your heart using both hands and your fingertips directly on the page often with your eyes closed. You will be using simple portable materials- watercolour paints, gouache, watercolour pencils and sharpies, though what you learn can be applied to any media you choose. Watch how quickly you will shift into a peaceful place of free flow painting, naturally. Build your skill and confidence in a supportive creative environment.
