Friday Nature Art for Kids
Jan 23, 30, Feb 6,13, 27. 10-3pm, $375
Boost your child’s art confidence and fuel their passion for artful expression in this exciting series that is perfect for kids who love to make art. Young artists are introduced to fresh art projects each day in a professional fine art studio with a good sized outdoor area for nature connection and art exploration. Painting, printmaking and drawing skills are strengthened while authentic creative expression is encouraged through fun personalized projects, lots of 1:1 instructional time, and open access to an abundance of real art materials.

Participants make their own folded crescendo Nature Art Book for watercolour painting with sounds, textures, patterns of bird flight, shadows, clouds, and the wind to invite touching in, exploring, being spontaneous, and finding flow to ignite a personal painting practice, naturally. In addition, they will explore fresh image-making materials and techniques like natural paint, gelli plate acrylic printing, sumingashi marbling, cyanotypes, and alcohol inks. They will dive into how to embellish, extend, layer and collage images using Zen Tangle pattern drawing and decorative design with gel pens and POSCA acrylic markers.
Art happens in the garden, forest and studio at 600 Fulford-Ganges Rd.
